The first ever Future 50 Girls showcase was a hit. The talent pool in Southwest Missouri is as good as it has ever been. Here are a few names from the event to keep an eye on as they rise to stardom.
Jovie Hirsch (7th - Nixa/Mo Flight) Jovie works as hard as any player on the court. This especially holds true on the defensive end of the floor as she locked up any opponent in front of her.
Ady Yerby (8th - Ozark/DC Queens) Ady was constantly putting pressure on the offense by moving without the ball. She finished with good control and touch around the rim.
Avery Toliver (8th - Branson/Hoop Dreams) Avery showed a ton of confidence handleing the ball in transition. Her decision making was on point, constantly finding a way to break down the defense. She made a controlled step back three in which you don't see very often at this level.
Markie Hirsch (8th - Nixa/Phenom) has the full package. She can score, pass and play defense all at a high level. Markie has a ton of potential and I can't wait to watch her for the years to come.
Presley Henderson (7th - Skyline/Mo Flight) had the move of the showcase. She attacked the paint and ball faked the defender out of the building, then finished with a sweet layup. It was an incredible move that you would see on a viral video.
Jolee Rothrock (8th - Rogersville) Jolee got everyones attention by the way she controlled the paint. Her footwork and soft touch around the rim lead to consistant buckets all night.
Izzy Watts (8th - Rogersville/Yanders Law ) You can tell she has spent time in the gym working on her shot because her mechanics are truly impressive. Mark my words, she will be the next great shooter to come out of Rogersville.
Cora McConnell (7th - Branson/Mo Flight) Cora's energy was contagious as she was making a big impact on both ends of the floor. She was knocking down shots as well as locking up whoever she was guarding.
